Caitlin Zahlis,

Programs & Development Manager

Caitlin moved to San Diego in 2011 from her hometown in central California. A peer counselor in high school, Caitlin knew she wanted a career in creating mental health opportunities for all students in schools.

After 6 years of schooling and research, at UC San Diego and San Diego State University, Caitlin earned her school social work credential and joined the Mending Matters team in 2018. She has served 6 high schools in San Diego as a mental health therapist, and created opportunities for youth-centered development across California. Now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Caitlin enjoys connecting with community partners to grow the Mending Matters vision of creating more access to quality, student-centered mental health care in schools.

Outside of work, if Caitlin isn’t at the beach, she is creating art, hiking, writing for journals in her field, visiting her East & West coast family, or at a local coffee shop with her husband and friends.
