How We Help: Restorative Programs

Our restorative programs support students by focusing on opportunities for growth and learning in lieu of experiencing stay-home suspensions.

Students are invited to participate in social-emotional programs facilitated by our mental health therapists. The programs are intended for group participation and encourage healthy interaction, communication, and development among students.

  • 90% of students who attend MAPS and PATH reported that it was more beneficial than staying at home for their suspension.

  • 75% of students who attended GPS reported that they now know how to communicate to resolve possible conflicts between themselves and others.

Programs We Facilitate


GPS is a 4-hour program designed to enhance students’ interpersonal skills, including:

  • Empathy Development
  • Focusing on Personal Values
  • Healthy Decision Making

A.T.S – Alternatives To Smoking

Alternatives to Smoking is a 2-day harm-reduction program for students challenged with smoking or vaping. The program focused on the impacts of smoking/vaping on students’ physical, social, and emotional health. Students consider healthy alternatives to smoking in the group.

M.A.P.S – Mindful Actions Peaceful Solutions

Mindful Actions Peaceful Solutions is a 3-day restorative program for students who have engaged in a physical altercation at school. The program focuses on healthy interpersonal skills, trigger identification, and conflict resolution skills. Students are provided a space to deeper reflect on the consequences of their decisions.

P.A.T.H – Pointing Adolescents Towards Health

Pointing Adolescents Towards Health is a 5-day harm-reduction program for students challenged with use or abuse of controlled substances. The program provides education on addiction, the effects of alcohol and drug use, and legal ramifications. Students are provided with a space to reflect on triggers to use, healthy coping alternatives and the impact of their use on their physical, social and emotional health.

Real YOU

Real YOU is a 4-hour program that focuses on academic integrity. The program facilitates discussion of common factors contributing to academic dishonesty including:

  • Time Management
  • Technology
  • Anxiety
  • Family Expectations
  • Fear of Failure
  • Learning Styles


STAY is a 4-hour program that focuses on truancy and attendance. The program facilitates discussion of:

  • Support System
  • Coping Skills
  • Self-Evaluation
  • Personal and Environmental Factors that Contribute to Absenteeism
  • Goal Setting

Online Programs

To ensure access for all students, we offer online programs that they can complete in lieu of an in-person restorative program. All online submissions are reviewed by a mental health professional and follow up is provided at the student’s school.
