Alexis Garcia Valdivia is a proud Bay Area Native and a first-generation Chicana graduate student. In 2015, Alexis moved to Southern California to pursue higher education. Four years later, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and a Minor in Women Studies from California State University San Marcos. It was during her time here that Alexis tapped into the power of community organizing, activism, and civic engagement. Since then, Alexis has worked with various populations in therapeutic settings following a trauma-informed and restorative justice lens. Alexis is currently attending San Diego State University where she will acquire her Master’s in Social Work.

In her free time, you can find Alexis tending to her plantitas, embracing the sun, and being everyone’s #1 hype woman.
