Mental Health Therapist
Aura was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. There, she began her social work career working with youth at risk and with children in low income communities.
Aura moved to the United States in 2011. While living in Boston, she received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Eastern Nazarene College. During her undergrad years, she worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Knowing this field was her true calling, she went right on to obtain her masters in Social Work from Boston College, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health and specialized in working with veterans and military families.
In the past years, Aura has worked in a wide variety of settings, including school, higher education, various communities, non profit organizations, and juvenile justice while serving individuals from all ages and families from diverse backgrounds.
Aura considers herself to be a supporter and advocate in her client’s journey. She is grateful to be part of the Mending Matters team and continued to make an impact in people’s life stories.
Outside work, Aura enjoys spending time with family and friends. She likes to travel, spend time in nature, trying new foods, and listening to Jazz.
