Caline was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As an undergraduate student, she spent most of her time volunteering with at-promise youth to provide resources and mentorship / advising services to Los Angeles communities until she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UCLA. Having a long standing goal of becoming a school social worker, she made it a priority to learn about, understand, and be critical of the current education system and social structures that exist within it. To do this, she continued her education at UCR, completing a Master of Education with an emphasis on Diversity and Equity, while continuing to work as a mentor at Sigma Beta Xi Youth and Family Services.
For the last two years, Caline has served as an Advisor and the Associate Director of Wahupa Upward Bound, serving first generation, low income students and giving them the guidance, resources and empowerment that will help them achieve success as college bound students.
Currently, Caline has officially begun her journey towards being a social worker and is working towards obtaining her Master of Social Work at SDSU. Caline is excited to be joining Mending Matters, and to continue learning and developing as a person and professional alongside a team that is dedicated to the holistic wellness of our future generations.
