Denise Moeller

MSW Intern

Denise was born in Tijuana, Mexico and moved to Chula Vista when she was two years old. Growing up in Chula Vista, she lived the injustices experienced by minorities. This encouraged her to pursue a career where she could help her community. She attended California State University Los Angeles and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. She is now a Master in Social Work student from California State University San Marcos. Her philosophy in social work is grounded upon the concepts of social justice, empowerment, and equity. She is passionate about working with children and has experience working with foster children and undocumented youth. When Denise is not in the field, you can find her traveling, sewing or spending time with her ten chihuahuas. Denise is happy to be a part of Mending Matters and excited to work with Spanish speaking students.
