Mental Health Therapist
Raised in sunny Chula Vista, Emma feels most connected to San Diego’s South Bay region. She spent most of her youth swimming and teaching aquatic ocean sports to kids. Before entering the mental health field, she spent seven years as an ocean lifeguard and youth sailing instructor. Emma attended Pepperdine University and obtained a degree in Interpersonal Communication. While at Pepperdine, she worked with individuals experiencing houselessness at The People Concern’s Santa Monica shelter.
After graduating, she received her master’s degree in social work and pupil personnel services credential from San Diego State University during the coronavirus pandemic. While at SDSU, she interned with Donovan State Prison. She believes that all individuals are deserving of having their needs met and hopes to continue to empower youth with the Mending Matters team.
Outside of work you can find Emma at the beach, drinking coffee, or playing with her giant dog, Norman.
