Gabriela Ortiz

MSW Intern

Gabriela was born and raised in the city of Oakland. From a young age, she had a passion for promoting social justice within her community. But it wasn’t until she studied abroad in Costa Rica that she knew she wanted to pursue social work as a career. In 2014, she graduated from California State University Fullerton with a Bachelors in Human Services with an emphasis on Mental Health. For the past 2 years, she has worked at an Elementary school to promote inclusion and provide resources for students that need additional support. She is currently a student in SDSU’s 3-year MSW program and looks forward to being a part of the team at Mending Matters this fall.
