Born and raised in San Diego to immigrants parents, Juan learned the value of hard work and the importance of an education. Juan spent most of his summers in Mexico City where he developed his love for soccer and tacos. He completed his Bachelor degree in Child Development from Point Loma Nazarene University and his Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Juan has worked with children in a variety of roles such as mentor, sports coach, teachers aid, behavioral interventionist, school social worker and therapist. Juan is motivated by his two sons Aiden (11) and Jonah (10) who are his best friends.

In his spare time Juan likes to play soccer, beat his kids at Monopoly and Scrabble, run long distances, eat tacos, and play soccer.
