Maryam was born and raised in Iraq, Baghdad and migrated to the United States in 2012. After attending high school in the US, Maryam earned her bachelor’s in social work from San Diego State University. Her experience as an immigrant has built her passion for helping people in need. Her goal is to make the world a safer place for the younger generation. As she continues her education as a Master’s level social worker, her goal is to continue to grow and make a difference in her communities.
