Samantha Hernandez,

Mental Health Therapist

Samantha grew up in the desert town of Victorville, California and dreamed of moving to a city with some sort of body of water nearby. Fast forward to 2013, when she moved to San Diego to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at SDSU. After falling in love with the field and its focus on advocacy and human rights, she continued on to receive her Masters of Social Work with an emphasis in school social work.

She has worked with students of all ages, from preschool to high school, and has witnessed the strength and resiliency a child has when faced with adversity. Samantha’s passion is to partner with youth and provide them with the tools necessary so that they can overcome their challenges. She is excited to be a part of Mending Matters, where she can continue to empower students to believe in themselves, find their voice, and recognize their value.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys watching nature documentaries, laughing with family and friends, and exploring beautiful new places.
