Mental Health Therapist
Teresa was born on the island of Guam, but moved to San Diego in early childhood. She is proud to have a multicultural family, of Black and Filipino-American heritage. Teresa followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the US Navy in order to build on independence, resilience, travel, and serve our Country. After serving in the military, she moved on to earning a Bachelors degree in Human Services and later a Masters degree in Marriage Family and Child Therapy, both from the University of Phoenix.
Teresa has experience in working with diverse populations such as military service members and veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, justice involved, houseless individuals and families, new parents, and has worked with organizations such as South Bay Community Services, MHS Families Forward Wraparound, and Courage to Call.
Teresa enjoys working with and supporting youth and families the most. She is excited to be a part of the Mending Matters team where she can continue to instill hope for the youth in our community.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and hanging out with her two kids, playing video games and spending time crafting and creating.
