Individual Interventions

We give students the opportunity to speak openly about their experiences in a confidential and safe environment. Our Master’s-level therapists implement therapeutic models utilizing trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches proven to be effective when working with adolescents in a school setting.

Behavioral Interventions

We work closely with school administrators to address behavioral issues using a preventative and restorative approach. Our interventions seek to reduce future behavior referrals and create a learning environment where there are less barriers and distractions for students.

Our curriculums emphasize meeting students where they are, both physically and mentally, and afford sufficient flexibility to adapt to the unique needs of the participants. Our programs take into consideration students’ unique backgrounds and previous influences, including gender, language and cultural differences, past trauma, personal experiences and beliefs.

If you or someone you know is going through a crisis and needs immediate assistance, please call the San Diego Access and Crisis Line (888) 724-7240. The phone lines are answered by trained professionals available 24/7; the call is free and confidential. If emergency medical care is needed, call 9-1-1 or go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital.

Crisis Support

Our therapists are trained in providing crisis intervention, suicide prevention and counseling services to students experiencing emotional distress. We maintain relationships with community agencies and connect students to specific support services as needed to facilitate the most effective care to youth in their times of crisis.

LIFE Living is for Everyone is an innovative suicide prevention program created by young people. With the intention of focusing on what makes life worth living, these mini-workshops teach important life skills such as:
*How to ask for help and reach out to an adult*
*How to talk to a friend with difficult life circumstances*
*How to cope with uncomfortable emotions*
*How to “be real” about who you are while accepting others*
The L.I.F.E. program is co-facilitated by therapists and youth student leaders. Participants will leave with a sense of empowerment about how to address concerns about their friend’s emotional wellbeing as well as their own.

Crisis Response Team

We know that the safety of your students is the highest priority. Our therapists are trained and available to support schools experiencing crises that impact student groups or the entire campus. Crises can range from addressing harmful behavior to the school community to counseling after student deaths or acts of violence. We tailor our interventions to address the needs of your campus with respect to its culture and context. Interventions can include individual check-ins and support after a tragedy or utilizing our intervention curriculum to address topics such as alcohol/drug use, physical fighting, or maintaining a safe campus environment.
