Sara grew up in northern Idaho and moved to sunny San Diego in 2015. Sara obtained her bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho in 2014. During her student teaching she discovered how impactful it was to work with students one on one to address issues taking place both inside and outside of the school setting.
Sara’s introduction to mental health was working as a Supportive Employment Specialist for at risk youth who had a serious mental illness throughout the county of San Diego. This experience inspired Sara to pursue her Master of Social Work and Pupil Personnel Services Credential which she obtained from University of Southern California in 2018. During her masters education Sara interned as a school social worker with elementary students addressing multiple issues affecting students and being a resource for students, families and teachers.
When not at work Sara enjoys spending time with friends and family doing escape rooms, volunteering with a local pitbull rescue group and enjoying the sunshine.
