Mental Health Therapist

Janel De La Torre holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Fine Arts, as well as a Master of Science in Multicultural Community Counseling with an emphasis in Social Justice Education. She graduated in 2024, where she strengthened her clinical skills and deepened her commitment to community and school based mental health.

For more than a decade, Janel has supported children, youth, and families in educational and community settings. Her work has included serving as a mental health clinician with undocumented and unaccompanied migrant youth, as well as with students ages 12–24 in school based mental health. As a fluent Spanish speaker, she provides culturally and linguistically responsive care that fosters trust and meaningful connection. Her approach integrates trauma informed, strengths based, and creative modalities to promote healing, resilience, and self expression.

Janel is committed to fostering safe, inclusive spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and empowered. Outside of her clinical work, she is a photographer who finds joy in the arts and personal expression, passions that influence her therapeutic approach.
