Alexis was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She attended San Diego State University and received a Master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Administration and Community Development. Alexis obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles. Alexis began her social work career as a mental health therapist in a crisis residential setting, supporting adults from diverse and at-risk populations who faced mental health crises. She also has experience working for a local non-profit program assisting first-generation college-bound high school students with college preparation. Alexis interned at a local agency that supports youth in the foster care system through sibling reunification. Alexis is committed to advocating for youth, especially those from diverse and underserved backgrounds. Alexis is passionate about utilizing her clinical and administrative skills to provide equitable mental health services to youth in San Diego.

In her free time, Alexis enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, listening to podcasts, reading new books, and spending time with family and friends.
