Amalia Hernandez

Amalia is a Faculty Member in the School of Social Work at San Diego State University, and has over 15 years of experience in schools, early education and family support services. Amalia’s backgrounds as a school social worker and mental health consultant to Head Start and family daycare programs has provided her extensive expertise in systems theory, child welfare and behavioral interventions in school settings. Amalia works alongside teachers and administrators to create Bully-Free schools and conflict resolution skills for children and adolescents. In addition to being a field instructor, she serves as a University lecturer in the PPS specialization at the School of Social Work for San Diego State University. Amalia has among her academic achievements a Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of California, San Diego, a Masters of Social Work from Boston University, and a School Social Work PPS Credential from San Diego State University.
