Caitlin Sansone,

Mental Health Therapist

Raised in San Diego, Caitlin attended several schools within the Poway Unified School District. It was during high school that she discovered her passion for psychology—sparked both by an engaging class and her own lived experiences. This passion guided her academic journey, leading her to Cal Poly Humboldt, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology followed by an M.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Counseling.

During her graduate studies, Caitlin gained valuable experience providing therapy services at Arcata High School and working with a nonprofit organization offering wraparound support to post-adoptive youth. It was at Arcata High that she developed a deep appreciation for school-based therapy, valuing the ability to offer more accessible mental health care while meeting students where they are, physically and emotionally.

After returning to San Diego, Caitlin joined Mending Matters as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and is excited to continue supporting student well-being in the school setting. She is passionate about co-creating a welcoming and authentic space where students feel empowered to process, explore, learn, and create. Recognizing that life can be challenging, Caitlin is committed to walking alongside students as they navigate difficult moments.

Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys spending time with her loved ones, caffeine from Dutch Bros, relaxing by the water, going to the gym, attending concerts, and cheering on women’s sports (go San Diego WAVE FC!).
