Cassie Collins,

Mental Health Therapist

Cassie was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Michigan. After graduation, she worked for an organization called Citizen Schools which is an initiative put into place to help close the achievement gap in middle schools in low-income areas. It was through that work she developed meaningful relationships with her students and gained an understanding of how much their mental health had an impact on their academics. This motivated her to go back to the University of Michigan to obtain her Masters in Social Work to gain the skills necessary to support youth with their mental health.

Cassie is extremely passionate about social justice work both on a micro and macro level. She has worked with youth and their families in a variety of settings and is excited to return to schools with an organization like Mending Matters who prioritizes student’s voices and challenges the status quo of traditional mental health services.

In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends and family, reading, and working out.
