Edgard grew up in El Paso, TX where he learned the values of family, community, and acceptance. After high school, Edgard attended Texas State University – San Marcos and earned his bachelors in resources and environmental studies. He then decided to serve and see the world so he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

After nine years of service and earning a masters in criminal justice from the University of Oklahoma, Edgard discovered a passion and desire to serve his community through mental health services. He earned his masters in social work from San Diego State University. Edgard gained clinical experience as an intern with Mending Matters and by working with veterans with substance use disorders at Veterans Village of San Diego. Edgard is ready and motivated to rejoin Mending Matters as a full-time therapist!

Edgard has been an athlete his entire life with football and hockey taking priority. He enjoys being active, trying new things, and playing with his two cats Duke and Rambo. He is passionate about social work and is actively working on his license in clinical social work.
