Gabriela Garcia-Turner,
  • LCSW
  • PPSC

Program Coordinator

Gabriela was raised between two cities: San Diego and San Francisco. The diverse experience expanded on her own Mexican-American culture and sparked her curiosity to learn more about other perspectives. Gabriela went on to study at San Francisco State University where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Humanities. The aspect of learning about human society, enriching connections, and helping people strengthen meaningful relationships led her to the field of Social Work.

Gabriela earned a Masters of Social Work and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from San Diego State University. Since 2014, Gabriela has worked with children, youth and families in various capacities including group therapy, case management and family work in schools and in the community. Through her experience she continues to be inspired by the resilience of young people and is excited to be a part of Mending Matters with the intent to continue to normalize and validate mental health.

After work, you can find Gabriela exploring different dog parks with her pup, Pringle, finding new tasty restaurants, and spending quality time with her partner and family.
