Giovanna Zampa

MSW Intern

Giovanna “Gio” Zampa is originally from the Bay Area but moved down to San Diego for her undergraduate degree in Social Work with a minor in Counseling and Social Change. Now, she is happy to continue her career at San Diego State University as she works toward her Master’s in Social Work. She has had experience in a variety of organizations related to social work and welfare, including a volunteer opportunity at PATH (People Assisting The Homeless), an internship with the Consensus Organizing Center’s Step Up Program, and a research job with The Project For Sanitation Justice. Each of these roles have further driven Gio’s passion for working with vulnerable populations to tackle large issues of social equity and justice. Outside of work and school, you can find Gio camping, hiking, and exploring both nature and the city in the local San Diego area.
