Karley Gordon,
- APCC
- PPSC
Karley has lived in many places but feels a special sense of groundedness – of home – here in San Diego. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy with a minor in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and began her career supporting youth in residential facilities, foster care, schools, and behavioral health hospitals as a Board-Certified Music Therapist. These formative experiences inspired her passion for early intervention and prevention-focused care, leading her to pursue a Master’s in Counseling from the University of San Diego with an emphasis in School Counseling.
Karley’s therapeutic approach is strengths-based, student-centered, and rooted in narrative therapy – honoring each student’s unique story and limitless potential. When appropriate, she integrates creative and expressive modalities to foster deeper connection and engagement. She views her role as both harmonizer and advocate, ensuring every student feels wholly seen, heard, and supported. Karley believes that when students experience safety, connection, and belonging, they are empowered to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Outside of her clinical work, Karley enjoys all things new – traveling to experience different cultures and adventures, discovering new music and artists, trying new recipes or restaurants, exploring a variety of creative hobbies, and immersing herself in fresh perspectives through books and movies.
