Mental Health Therapist

Kate calls three places in California home— Orange where she grew up, SLO where she went to college, and sunny San Diego. During her undergraduate years at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Kate majored in Psychology and received a double minor in Women’s & Gender Studies and Ethnic Studies. Following college she worked for a non-profit, providing community-based care for foster and probation youth as a Rehabilitation Specialist. Whether it was holding space on a car ride or sitting side-by-side on the curb after a difficult conversation, her work taught her to truly embody the saying, “meet them where they are at.”

In 2020, Kate continued to pursue her dream and moved to San Diego to receive her Master of Social Work at SDSU. While completing her degree, Kate’s intern work was focused on providing acute trauma-focused therapy to youth and families at Rady Children’s Chadwick Center. There, Kate was able to truly see the power of safety, vulnerability, and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship.

When she is not at work, you can find Kate soaking up the sun outdoors, riding the trolley to a Padres game, or playing on her rec league kickball team.
