Mental Health Therapist

Born and raised in Oceanside, Ca, Luz graduated from a local community college with an associates in Sociology. She then transferred to Cal State San Marcos where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with emphasis in family, youth and children. Luz has experience working with youth as well as college aged adults and worked as a research assistant where she helped gain information on food insecurity on college campuses. She presented the information gained alongside with a team at the California Sociological Conference to gain awareness on the issue. Luz has always loved helping people and decided to pursue a Masters degree in Social Work with a concentration in clinical direct practice. This is where she learned her zeal for breaking down barriers to mental health .

Luz is a first generation Mexican-American college graduate. She is passionate about helping people from her community and making a difference. Luz loves to spend time outdoors hiking, playing soccer, swimming and running with her dog.

Luz is very excited to be a part of an awesome team like Mending Matters and is working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
