Lynne Tran,

Program Coordinator

Lynne Tran was born and raised in San Diego, CA, mostly in the heart of City Heights. Growing up in City Heights during the 90’s was a culturally rich experience with challenges faced by a marginalized community. This led Lynne towards obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Law, and Society from UC Irvine. She then volunteered for probation and worked as a case manager with youth for 3 years. Lynne realized that her heart was working with youth and supporting their goals and dreams. She continued with her education for a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University where she had the privilege of interning with communities of poverty in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens boroughs of New York City. Lynne’s additional experience includes working as a mental health specialist for a suicide prevention and early intervention program along with leading a community-based case management program for youth ages 6 to 18.

Outside of work, Lynne enjoys spending time with family/friends/dog (Bebes), roller blading on the boardwalk, traveling, and eating yummy food. Lynne’s excited to be part of the wonderful Mending Matters team and extra excited to work with students throughout San Diego County.
