Mental Health Therapist

Pamela Guinto is a nonbinary Filipino social worker who uses they/them pronouns. With a military upbringing, they value resilience, discipline, and adaptability. Pamela holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work. They have experience in crisis intervention, Assertive Community Treatment, and harm reduction services. Before joining Mending Matters, they helped individuals secure and maintain stable housing after chronic homelessness.

Pamela’s MSW practicum included facilitating group and individual therapy on mental health, domestic violence, and Substance Use Disorders. These experiences strengthened their skills in trauma-informed care, group facilitation, and client engagement, which they now apply in their work with youth, where building trust, creating meaningful connections, and offering insightful, effective interventions is essential.

Passionate about social justice, Pamela advocates for marginalized groups, focusing on dismantling barriers affecting women, children, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ communities. They emphasize building trust and connection with clients through empathetic communication and finding common ground.

Outside of work, Pamela can be found thrift shopping, walking their dogs, or in the clearance section of HomeGoods.
